FESTIVAL CONTINUES TO SHARE THE HERITAGE
Provincetown Portuguese Festival Celebration 2026

June 26th - June 28th, 2026

It’s almost time to celebrate the 30th Annual Portuguese Festival and the 79th Blessing of the Fleet in Provincetown!

It’s a tradition rooted in community and celebration, with a full schedule of events that offers something for everyone. All weekend we’ll honor Provincetown’s proud Portuguese heritage and fishing history, leading up to the Fishermen’s Mass and Blessing of the Fleet on Sunday.

There’ll be all the music, dancing, and incredible food that make the Festival a longtime favorite—along with some new experiences. We’ve partnered with Art’s Dune Tours for a special Sunset Tour featuring Portuguese food and flair. Call them directly for details. This year we also welcome WCOD FM-106 for a live broadcast from Portuguese Square on Saturday

Later in June, on Wednesday, June 24th, join us for a new Festival event presented with the Truro Historical Society at the the Highland House Museum in North Truro. The presentation “Provincetown & Truro in Pictures,” will feature local history, vintage images, and fun stories from the Outer Cape.

The festivities begin on Sunday, May 31st with the Meet The Artist event at the Harbor Hotel. 2026 Festival Painting Artist Bill Fitts will be there to greet guests, along with lite bites from Angel Foods, a cash bar, a raffle, and live music from Rob Scott.

Bill’s beautiful painting of the F/V Miss Lilly is the official artwork of this year’s Festival and is featured on the 2026 Festival T-shirts. Shirts are available now at Seamen’s Bank on Commercial Street in Provincetown and at the North Truro branch.

You can also purchase T-shirts at the Firehouse by Town Hall on Commercial Street on Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th from 10am to 4pm.

Festival Weekend officially begins with two special events: the Mermaid Oyster Tour and the Flag Raising Ceremony. The free oyster farm tour departs from Pilgrim’s First Landing Park. Later that evening, join us high above Provincetown for the raising of the Portuguese flag at the Pilgrim Monument & Museum.

There’s so much to do Festival Weekend! From Homecoming Under The Tent on Friday night to live music and dancing all weekend long on the Seamen’s Bank Main Stage in Portuguese Square. Festival favorites return, including the Lion’s Club Food Tent and the Knights of Columbus Soup Tasting. Don’t miss Tasca on Sunday during the Blessing, courtesy of the Squealing Pig.

Kids won’t want to miss the Fishing Derby at MacMillan Pier, and families can enjoy Field Games & Cookout at the Veteran’s Memorial Community Center. In Portuguese Square on Ryder Street, visitors can shop the Artisan Crafts Fair or enjoy stories, demonstrations, and presentations from local fishermen and other community members.

Be sure to check out the Prose & Poetry Reading in the Cabaret Room at the Crown & Anchor, the Fado Concert at Town Hall, and the lively Samba drummers and dancers performing in Portuguese Square.

The weekend concludes with one of Provincetown’s most meaningful traditions: the Fishermen’s Mass at St. Peter’s Church, followed by the 79th Blessing of the Fleet at MacMillan Pier.

Finally, a huge thank-you to our volunteers, the Provincetown community, and every visitor who helps make Festival Weekend such a special tradition.

We’ll continue sharing updates as Festival Weekend gets closer.

See you there to Share The Heritage!
